The background of the current ethical code of the Cuban Association of Librarians is discussed, and its different aspects are analyzed with a focus on its connections with other relevant international regulations: the protection of confidentiality, maintaining high professional standards, giving priority to the readers’ interests, the right of access to documents and their contents without restrictions, and the provision of complete, objective and impartial information.Downloads
