Abstract

Opinion survey on the presence of the ebook in the environment of Libraries Groups on Science (GBC). Two questionnaires, one applied to the head librarians and another aimed at end users (researchers, teachers and students) were performed. In this paper the results corresponding to the survey of head librarians. The percentages allocated by libraries to purchase electronic books, factors that influence their purchase, most appropriate purchasing model, most used formats, means offering ebooks, advantages and disadvantages compared to the printed book and diffusion are treated points. The results are useful indicators for decision-making regarding the acquisition and use of these materials in academic libraries.
