Abstract

Universities are relevant agents in the promotion and implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) due to their role in society. An analysis of the relationship of Spanish universities with the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs has been carried out from three complementary perspectives: the web visibility of Spanish universities, both public and private; the presence in the current strategic plans of the Spanish public and private universities; and the Spanish academic production on the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in the Web of Science database. A quantitative and qualitative methodology has been used to analyse the three areas mentioned. The results show the growing interest in sustainability and the SDGs in Spanish universities in recent years, although some weaknesses that could be improved are also detected.
