A review on libraries and librarian´s representation in cinema movies is offered. The cinema representation of libraries and the image stereotypes of librarians are examined, with special attention to the “standard” woman librarian with bun and glasses, its origin and survival in the collective imagination. Movies passages with relevant libraries and librarians in the story are examined from the library as symbol (Babel, Alexandria), until the libraries and archives in modern genres: mystery movies, spy, science fiction and journalism moviesDownloads
