Information Architecture: creating the foundations for interoperability at Scottish Natural Heritage

The necessity of working towards the Modernising Government agenda led Scottish Natural Heritage to the purchase and implementation of an Electronic Records and Document Management System. It was recognized that new technology only provides part of the solution; other aspects that need to be in place are a cohesive information architecture and the culture to support information sharing. This paper describes aspects of the approach taken by SNH in working towards this interoperability.Downloads
