The apparent lack of practicality of the contents generated in the social sciences and humanities (CSH), results in the approach of the problem of this research, since contrary to other scientific disciplines that are associated with the direct application of knowledge in practice, here, we look for to identify possibilities by linking the higher education sectors with social entities, taking as a reference for this, the concretion of a knowledge transfer model (TC) specific to the CSH and their respective operating mechanisms, which allows a process of connection between the educational and social sectors. From the identification of the TC model and mechanisms based on the review of the literature, a mixed type investigation was carried out: (1) with the participation of 17 experts from the area of organizational management and 13 social entities, where through focus groups a validation process was carried out; and (2) the application of a questionnaire to 222 teachers in the area of CSH assigned to higher education and representatives of 24 social entities, who evaluated the relevance of the model and the mechanisms of the TC , as well as the possible barriers that they would face in their application. The result of the investigation allowed us to identify various conditions and characteristics on the ways of executing the processes, as well as the aspects that surrounds this kind of proposal in terms of their implications, limitations and strengths that favor bringing this kind of initiatives to a reality.
