Study on theoretical evolution about thesaurus according to the discourse of researcher Dagobert Soergel. Thesaurus are tools for controlling vocabulary, information representation and retrieval, used in indexing. The aim of the study was to analyze Soergel's discourse in his articles on the construction, functions, maintenance, technologies and uses of thesaurus, using Bardin's content analysis methodology. The Soergel's publications analyzed are marked by proposals of these aspects of thesaurus, theoretical and methodological, in relation to different technologies. The analyzed articles show that the researcher is innovative and accompanies trends, which point to the elaboration, use and improvement of thesaurus.
